Good Hope High School is officially a 200 Alabama Bicentennial School. We are also sponsored by the Alabama Council on the Arts and the Cullman County Bicentennial Committee. We are hosting a community festival to celebrate our community and its history. Good Hope Community was founded in 1842, and oh, the history that has transpired since. The history of this small town has revolved around the schools, churches, and the local government. The citizens of Good Hope are active participants in all that goes on in the small town, county, and the state. This small town has always had an incredible pride in the state of Alabama. We are excited to put our history on display for the public in celebration of Good Hope and the great state of Alabama. We will give reference to those who gave us Good Hope in which to live.
The Purpose: The purpose of this festival is to bring the school and community together to recognize and exhibit reverence to the history, people, and entities of Good Hope.
The Guided Cemetery Tours: The cemetery will come to life with Good Hope students posing as the inhabitants of the cemetery who were instrumental in the town's history. The students will share the many interesting stories with the visitors as they tour the cemetery.
The Museum: The school will be the hub of the celebration. The gym will become a makeshift museum with photos, art, letters, and artifacts.
